Theology, sometimes called Theology Proper, is the division of systematic theology which considers the Godhead itself. It assumes, without proof, that God exists as revealed in Scripture. This God is self-existing and sovereign. Theology considers three basic questions about God. First, how does God exist? Here the focus centers on God's exsistence as a triune being. Second, what are God's characteristics? As a triune being, what are God's abilities (what God can do) and attributes (what God is like). Third, what is God doing? God is an active being. Of particular importance is the plan made by the Godhead and the presently ongoing execution of that plan.
